Little Dabdoob and the Insomnia Under the Moonlight
In a distant pine forest, there lived a small gray bear named Dabdoob inside a warm cave lined with dry leaves by his mother. The only problem little Dabdoob faced was that when evening fell and all the forest animals slept, he would toss and turn in his bed without closing his eyes.
He thought about every berry he hadn't eaten and every rock he hadn't climbed during the day, keeping his mind alert and active while the universe around him sank into complete stillness and the sound of the night breeze whispered among the branches.
The Wise Owl's Advice and the Secret of Relaxation
On one moonlit night, Dabdoob sat outside the cave looking at the stars when the wise owl "Um Risha" saw him and perched on a nearby branch. She kindly asked him, "What keeps you awake, my dear, while the world sleeps?" Dabdoob explained to her that he couldn't stop his racing thoughts.
The owl smiled and said to him, "Oh Dabdoob, sleep is like a gentle bird that only comes to those who calm their bodies and soothe their breaths. Imagine you are lying on a pillow made of soft white clouds, take three deep and slow breaths, and release all your daytime thoughts with your exhale."
Deep breaths and deep sleep until morning
Bear entered his cave and immediately tried the owl's advice; he lay on his back, closed his eyes gently, and imagined himself being carried on a soft white cloud in a clear sky. He took a deep breath and then a calm exhale, feeling his shoulders relax and the weight of his eyelids gradually increasing.
Only a few minutes passed before Bear was deep in a comfortable sleep, waking only to the chirping of morning birds and the warm rays of the sun, feeling energetic and lively to start a new day full of play and joy.
