The beginning of the puzzle: An ancient papyrus in the attic of the house
Bassem was a child passionate about observing the sky, spending the early evening hours before bedtime tracking the paths of planets and the movement of the moon from the window of his room overlooking the tranquil oak valley.
On a calm evening, he found in an old wooden box that his grandfather kept in the attic of the house an astronomical map drawn on soft papyrus, at the bottom of which was a riddle indicating the existence of a crystal stone that reflects the light of the stars and grants the place a special tranquility if placed in its designated spot atop the old observation tower.
Bassem resolved to solve the riddle with patience and calm, following the symbolic clues illustrated on the map without straying beyond the safe boundaries of his home garden as the time for stillness and rest approached.
Decoding the riddle: Wisdom and focus open the way
Bassem followed the engraved lines that marked the distance between three consecutive cypress trees, and there he noticed a smooth stone reflecting the silver moonlight in a pure blue color, gently embedded beneath the wildflower bed.
Bassem realized after reading the written riddle that the stone did not require strength to move it but rather to adjust its angle of reflection towards the upper window; he cleaned the stone with a soft cloth and tilted it slightly until the light beam touched the lens of the old telescope.
In a stunning moment, the lights of the stars scattered across the walls of the room, forming a magnificent celestial map that fills the space with an extraordinary calm and tranquility that dispels any anxiety and invites deep contemplation and complete relaxation.
The lesson learned and educational insights
Developing thinking and reasoning skills: Encouraging the seven-year-old child to use their mind and observational skills to solve puzzles calmly.
Respecting the heritage of ancestors and valuing knowledge: Instilling a love for reading and exploring maps and natural sciences like astronomy.
Preparing for sleep through contemplation and tranquility: Connecting the end of the day with a calm activity that relaxes the mind and prepares the body for complete biological rest.
Bassem turned off the reading lamp after enjoying the enchanting view of the stars above his bed, resting his head on his soft pillow, feeling the joy of mental achievement, as his eyelids slowly descended, surrendering to deep sleep and inspiring celestial visions until dawn.
